While swimming is prohibited, the site is highly favored for photography, hiking, and cycling. Located just on the outskirts of town, the quarries are best reached by bicycle, turning the journey through the countryside into part of the experience. It offers a raw, quiet, and wonderfully unpolished alternative to the region's typical wine tourism, showcasing a stark geological beauty that feels entirely distinct from the surrounding estuary plains.
