Jackson Hole Historical Society & Museum.
Occupying a newly reimagined campus in the heart of downtown, the Jackson Hole History Museum balances modern architecture with the town’s rustic vernacular. The site integrates a contemporary three-story gallery building with two preserved log cabins—the Shane and Karns cabins—offering a tactile look at early homesteading and the region's cinematic history. Inside, the narrative shifts from standard frontier lore to a more inclusive community portrait, featuring interactive artifact walls and a significant mural by artist Nanibah Chacon that honors the Eastern Shoshone and Shoshone-Bannock Tribes. Between exploring the revolving Indigenous art exhibits, visitors can head to the rooftop terrace for unobstructed views of Snow King Mountain, making it a rare space where local heritage and the surrounding landscape are physically and culturally linked.
