Arches Main Park Road.
The Main Park Road serves as the primary artery through a high-desert landscape defined by the world’s highest density of natural sandstone arches. This paved corridor climbs from the valley floor through a series of switchbacks, immediately revealing the park's scale via the towering monoliths of Park Avenue. As the road winds north, it provides direct access to over 2,000 documented arches, including the 290-foot span of Landscape Arch and the gravity-defying Balanced Rock. The route is more than a transit point; it is a gateway to diverse environments, from the fins of the Fiery Furnace to the dark-sky basins ideal for stargazing. While many formations are visible from roadside pullouts, the road also connects the trailheads for iconic hikes like Delicate Arch and the Windows Section, where the red rock topography is most concentrated and accessible.
