International Tennis Hall of Fame.

Located on the sprawling grounds of the 1880 Newport Casino, the International Tennis Hall of Fame is the site where the first U.S. National Championships—the precursor to the U.S. Open—were held in 1881. The museum balances Gilded Age architecture with modern technology, featuring over 15,000 artifacts ranging from medieval equipment to a life-size Roger Federer hologram. Beyond the memorabilia and the plaques honoring the game's legends, the site remains a functional sporting venue. It houses the oldest "real tennis" court in the country and 13 public grass courts that maintain a distinctive Wimbledon-esque atmosphere. Visitors can engage with virtual reality exhibits or watch active matches on the pristine lawns, making it a rare historic site that still feels very much like a living part of the sport.
