Theodore's.

Spanning three distinct units in the North Dakota Badlands, Theodore Roosevelt National Park is defined by the rugged, color-streaked buttes and steep cliffs carved by the Little Missouri River. It is a place of significant historical weight, preserving the landscapes that shaped the 26th president’s conservation ethics; visitors can still step inside his original Maltese Cross Cabin. Unlike the more crowded parks to the west, this terrain offers a quiet, expansive intimacy. Feral horses, longhorn cattle, and massive bison herds roam the grasslands, while vast prairie dog towns colonize the plateaus. Between the scenic drives and 85 miles of trails, the park transitions from vibrant green summers to harsh, stark winters, all under some of the darkest, star-filled skies in the country.
