Occupying a prominent corner in the vibrant NuLu district, Hotel Genevieve marks the first urban project from the Bunkhouse group. The design, executed by ROHE Creative, avoids traditional Kentucky tropes in favor of a bold, French-inflected aesthetic that mirrors Louisville’s namesake. Rooms feel curated rather than manufactured, featuring custom robes, Sferra linens, and vibrant color palettes. The social heart of the property spans several distinct levels: Bar Genevieve offers rooftop cocktails and Mediterranean-inspired street food with clear views of the Ohio River, while the "semi-secret" Lucky Penny provides a late-night, speakeasy atmosphere. On the ground floor, the Mini Marché acts as a high-end neighborhood bodega. It’s a stylish, female-designed anchor for the city’s most walkable neighborhood, successfully blending playful modernism with local history.
