Sharjah Art Museum.
Opened in 1997 in the historic Al Shuwaiheen district, the Sharjah Art Museum is one of the UAE’s largest dedicated art institutions, offering an essential survey of modern and contemporary Arab art. Spread across three floors, the museum features a permanent collection of over 500 works—including paintings, sculptures, and watercolors—with a strong focus on Gulf and Middle Eastern artists from the late 20th century to the present. Alongside these holdings, which include pieces donated by the Ruler of Sharjah, the museum hosts temporary global exhibitions and serves as a key venue for the Sharjah Biennial. Its location amid the heritage buildings and narrow lanes of the Heart of Sharjah makes it a natural anchor for a wider cultural walk. Admission is free.
