Fujairah Heritage Village.
Step back in time at Fujairah Heritage Village, a rustic, open-air museum designed to recreate traditional Emirati life before the mid-20th-century modernization. Enclosed by a high wall with fortified watchtowers, this compact site features reconstructed homes built from mud, brick, and palm fronds, showing how early inhabitants adapted to the harsh desert environment. Inside, the village feels surprisingly active, showcasing recreated rural shops, a traditional majlis, and displays of historical weaponry, household tools, and handicrafts. A highlight is the Al Yazrah irrigation system, complete with a bull-powered mechanism once used for farming. Located near Fujairah Fort, it offers a straightforward, walkable look at the region’s agricultural, domestic, and architectural history.
