Pakarang Cave.
Pakarang Cave, often called Coral Cave, offers a journey into an ancient, submerged past hidden deep within Khao Sok National Park. Reached by crossing the dramatic waters of Cheow Lan Lake, followed by a jungle trek and a short bamboo raft ride, this small but visually dense limestone cavern is famous for its unique geological history. Millions of years ago, this entire landscape was an ocean floor, a legacy left behind in fossilized marine life and stalactites and stalagmites that have grown to resemble delicate branching coral. Inside, the humid air is cool, and narrow passages open into chambers where mineral formations sparkle under flashlight beams like natural chandeliers. It is a compact, highly ornamented cave that turns a classic lake excursion into an encounter with a prehistoric seabed.
