Ayutthaya Floating Market.
Ayothaya Floating Market is a purpose-built cultural park designed to recreate the atmosphere of Thailand’s ancient capital. Opened in 2010, the sprawling complex is laid out around a central lake, where traditional wooden stilt houses and boardwalks are divided into 16 zones named after historic Ayutthaya districts. Instead of a naturally occurring canal market, visitors will find a curated, lively village of around 250 stalls. Vendors dressed in period costumes sell regional snacks, clay-pot curries, and local crafts. While the experience is unashamedly geared toward tourism, it offers a convenient one-stop cultural excursion, complete with daily historical war reenactments, folk performances, and scenic wooden boat rides around the water.
