Wat Rong Khun.
Wat Rong Khun, or the White Temple, is a contemporary Buddhist masterpiece in Chiang Rai, Thailand, created by artist Chalermchai Kositpipat. Completed in 2008, its dazzling white exterior, embedded with glass and mirrors, symbolizes purity and sets it apart from traditional temples. The intricate design merges Thai and Hindu architectural elements and challenges conventional Buddhist themes through murals that feature both spiritual and modern societal references, including icons from pop culture. Visitors must cross the "Bridge of the cycle of rebirth" to reach the temple, with its symbolic elements accentuating the journey to enlightenment. Although it was damaged in a 2014 earthquake, the temple has been restored, making it a unique destination for spiritual reflection and artistic appreciation.
