Wat Chedi Luang.

Wat Chedi Luang is an iconic temple complex in Chiang Mai, Thailand, known for its impressive yet partially ruined 15th-century chedi, which originally stood at 82 meters tall. Constructed from 1391 to 1475 under King Saen Muang Ma and later King Tilokaraj, the chedi reflects the grandeur of Lanna architecture. It housed the revered Emerald Buddha for nearly a century until its relocation in 1551, with a black jade replica now adorning the site. The temple complex also features the City Pillar, believed to protect the area, along with beautifully crafted viharns showcasing historical Buddha images. Open daily for visitors, Wat Chedi Luang offers a unique blend of history, spirituality, and cultural significance amid serene surroundings.
