Aletsch Glacier.

Stretching nearly 23 kilometers through the Valais Alps, the Aletsch Glacier is the longest and most massive ice flow in Eurasia. This UNESCO-protected giant begins at the high-altitude Concordia Platz—where three smaller glaciers converge—and snakes down a dramatic U-shaped valley toward the Massa River. At its thickest point, the ice plummets 900 meters deep, creating a surreal landscape of deep crevasses, lateral moraines, and exposed rock that acts as a live textbook of glacial geology. Visitors can easily access panoramic viewpoints like the Eggishorn or Bettmerhorn via cable cars from the surrounding Aletsch Arena. From these heights, the sheer scale of the ice corridor contrasts beautifully with the ancient pine trees of the adjacent Aletsch Forest.
