Palacio de Figueras.
Overlooking the Eo estuary on the Asturian coast, Palacio de Figueras is a 16th-century fortress transformed by a meticulous eleven-year restoration. The architecture is defined by a central tower and crenellated wings, now serving as a private estate that blends defensive historical bones with clean, contemporary interiors. Inside, the eleven suites are named after Asturian royalty and feature a mix of custom furniture and modern art, while the communal spaces include a library, a glass-walled orangery, and a professional-grade kitchen. Outside, landscaped gardens terrace down toward the shore, housing a heated pool and a permanent marquee for large-scale events. It functions less like a standard hotel and more like a high-end coastal retreat, offering a quiet base for exploring the nearby surfing beaches, fishing ports, and the rugged Picos de Europa.
