Acuario de Zaragoza is Europe’s largest freshwater aquarium, dedicated to showcasing the rich biodiversity of river ecosystems from around the globe. Spanning 3,400 square meters, it features over 6,000 specimens across 350 species from major rivers like the Nile, Amazon, and Ebro. Visitors can marvel at an array of aquatic life, including sturgeons and piranhas, alongside terrestrial counterparts like titi monkeys. With 70 pools and interactive exhibits, it offers an immersive experience aimed at educating the public, especially children, through workshops and themed activities. Originally built for the 2008 Zaragoza Expo, the aquarium reinforces the importance of freshwater conservation while celebrating the beauty of our planet’s river habitats.
