Bar FM.
Located in a nondescript neighborhood on the outskirts of Granada, Bar FM is an unassuming destination that trades in some of the finest seafood in Andalusia. Owners Francisco Martínez and Rosa Macías maintain a rigorous standard of quality, sourcing daily catches from Motril and refusing to open on days when fresh fish isn’t available. The space is modest and often bustling, but the cooking is precise, focusing on masterful frying and plancha techniques that highlight the raw product. Signature plates include the acclaimed dried octopus and crisp baby squid, alongside grilled white prawns and hake finished with olive oil. The wine list is surprisingly deep, leaning into regional bottles that pair well with the salty, straightforward fare. It’s a purist’s haunt where the lack of central-city polish is more than compensated for by the caliber of the kitchen.
