Salvador Dalí House Museum.

Located in the secluded bay of Portlligat, the Salvador Dalí House Museum is the only place the artist truly called home. What began in 1930 as a single fisherman’s hut evolved over forty years into a labyrinthine sprawling complex of whitewashed structures and hidden passages. This was Dalí’s primary workshop and private sanctuary shared with his muse, Gala, until her death in 1982. The interior is a physical manifestation of his surrealist psyche: windows shaped like eyes frame the Mediterranean, a taxidermied bear greets visitors in the hall, and his studio remains frozen in time with original canvases and custom easels. Outside, the eccentricities continue with giant egg sculptures perched on the roof and a phallic-shaped swimming pool. Access is strictly via small guided tours, making advanced reservations essential to step into this intimate, chaotic masterpiece.
