Eurostars Hotel Real.
Commanding a headland between the Bay of Santander and Sardinero beach, this 1917 landmark was originally built to house the entourage of King Alfonso XIII. It remains the city's most emblematic stay, defined by Belle Époque architecture, white stone facades, and manicured gardens containing over 80 species of roses. Inside, the aesthetic is unapologetically classical—think crystal chandeliers, ornate wood paneling, and a palette of nautical blues. While the hilltop location is a bit removed from the city center, the trade-off is panoramic water views from nearly every angle, including the marble terrace and the French-influenced El Puntal restaurant. Beyond the historic lounges, there is a thalassotherapy spa and a quiet, old-world dignity that modern builds can't replicate.
