Pfunda Tea Factory.

Situated in the fertile, high-altitude hills near Rubavu, Pfunda Tea Factory offers an immersive look at one of Rwanda's most successful agricultural exports. Unlike static visitor centers, this is a fully operational, Rainforest Alliance-certified facility that processes around 2,500 metric tons of tea annually, sourced largely from thousands of local smallholder farmers. Guided tours trace the entire production chain, taking visitors through the active factory floor to witness withering, cutting, fermenting, and drying. Guests can don traditional gear to try their hand at picking tea leaves on the scenic estate before wrapping up the experience with a tasting session of Pfunda’s distinct black teas. It is a highly tactile, unvarnished look at Rwandan tea culture.
