Canopy Walkway.
Suspended 70 meters above the floor of Nyungwe National Park, this 160-meter-long steel bridge offers a rare aerial perspective on one of Africa’s oldest montane rainforests. The experience begins with a hike along the Igishigishigi trail, leading to a three-section walkway that sways gently over the deep valleys. Because Nyungwe survived the last ice age, the biodiversity here is staggering; from the canopy, you’re positioned at eye level with some of the park's 300 bird species and 13 types of primates, including L’Hoest’s monkeys and acrobatic chimpanzees. While the height provides a rush of adrenaline, the primary draw is the view, which stretches across the dense, ancient treeline toward Lake Kivu and the rolling hills of the East African Rift on a clear day.
