Established in 1898 as a private subtropical estate, Riviera Park has evolved into Sochi’s most historic and eclectic social hub. The grounds blend old-world botanical charm with high-energy modern entertainment, characterized by winding paths that lead past sculptures of literary greats and the famed Friendship Alley, where trees were planted by Soviet cosmonauts. Its diverse layout packs in a massive dolphinarium, a zoo, and a seasonal Green Theater alongside a classic amusement park featuring a Ferris wheel with Black Sea views. Recent renovations have modernized the nearby embankment with sustainable materials, yet the park retains its original character as a lush, kitschy, and indispensable city landmark. It is one of the few places where you can jump from a high ropes course to a quiet butterfly garden within the same city block.
