Idam - An Alain Ducasse Restaurant.
Occupying the top floor of the Museum of Islamic Art, IDAM represents Alain Ducasse’s first foray into the Middle East. The space, designed by Philippe Starck, is a masterclass in monochrome sophistication, featuring carpeted floors embroidered with white calligraphy and floor-to-ceiling windows that frame the Doha skyline. The menu is a deliberate bridge between French haute cuisine and Arabic traditions, utilizing local ingredients like camel meat and regional spices to reinvent European classics. Signature dishes, such as the tender Moroccan-spiced lamb or the seven-vegetable couscous, are served with meticulous precision. It is a dry restaurant, focusing instead on creative infusions and mocktails that complement the complex flavors. The experience is best timed for sunset, when the terrace views and the high-design interior converge.
