Palácio Ludovice Wine Experience Hotel.
The former private residence of João Federico Ludovice, architect to King João V, has been reimagined as a boutique stay that trades generic luxury for a deep immersion into Portuguese viticulture. Located at the crossroads of Chiado and Bairro Alto, the 18th-century palace retains its aristocratic soul through original hand-painted tiles and carved wood ceilings, now balanced by a sharp, contemporary renovation by designer Miguel Câncio Martins. The experience centers on the inner courtyard and Federico, the on-site restaurant, where the "Wine Experience" moniker translates into a sophisticated cellar-bar atmosphere and curated tastings. With 61 rooms overlooking the city’s hills or the quiet interior patio, the hotel functions as a high-design gateway to Lisbon’s epicurean side, positioned directly across from the São Pedro de Alcântara viewpoint and the iconic Glória Tram.
