Alila Jabal Akhdar.
Perched 2,000 meters above sea level on the edge of a dramatic limestone gorge, Alila Jabal Akhdar is defined by its isolation and high-altitude perspective. Built from locally sourced stone and wood, the LEED-certified architecture is designed to disappear into the rugged Al Hajar landscape rather than dominate it. Inside, the 78 suites feature hand-painted ceramics and Omani copper accents, each opening onto a private balcony facing the canyon. The resort functions as an upscale basecamp for the mountains; guests can spend days on the via ferrata, trekking through terraced orchards, or swimming in an infinity pool that appears to spill into the abyss. Evenings center on the Juniper restaurant and guided stargazing sessions enabled by the exceptionally clear mountain skies.
