Arctic Cathedral.
The Arctic Cathedral, officially known as Tromsdalen Church, is an architectural gem in Tromsø, Norway, completed in 1965. Designed by Jan Inge Hovig, its striking triangular shape resembles a massive ice floe, with 11 aluminium-coated concrete panels that harmonize beautifully with the Arctic landscape. The eastern wall showcases a stunning glass mosaic by Victor Sparre, symbolizing divine light, whose colors shift with the day. The interior features exceptional acoustics, complemented by an impressive organ with 2,940 pipes, making it a favored venue for concerts, including enchanting midnight sun performances. Easily accessible, the church serves as a cultural landmark, providing a serene setting for worship and reflection amidst breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains.
