Hapuku Lodge & Tree Houses.
Hapuku Lodge & Tree Houses redefines the rural getaway by lifting guests thirty feet off the ground into a canopy of native mānuka trees. Located on a working deer farm and olive grove north of Kaikōura, the property sits in the narrow gap between the rugged Seaward Kaikōura Range and the Pacific Ocean. While the main lodge offers traditional suites, the signature experience is found in the copper-clad tree houses, which use large windows and private decks to frame views of the surf and the mountains. The architecture is deliberate, using native timbers to blend into the grove. Dining is a central pillar here, with a kitchen focused on the immediate landscape—expect seafood from the coast and produce grown on-site. It is a quiet, architectural take on New Zealand’s wild coast.
