Rangoon Tea House.
Rangoon Tea House has successfully modernized the traditional Burmese tea shop experience without losing its soul. Located in a Golden Valley building constructed from recycled teak and handmade bricks, the space feels like a living museum of Yangon’s cosmopolitan history. The menu is a comprehensive map of the city’s culinary DNA, spanning iconic mohinga and rich curries to snacks influenced by the region’s Jewish, Indian, and Chinese heritage. While the sixteen varieties of traditional tea remain the cornerstone, the inclusion of a whisky bar and a bi-weekly live jazz lounge marks a shift toward a more inclusive, all-day social hub. It is a refined, gender-neutral alternative to the city’s historically male-dominated tea stalls, blending high-end design with the comfort of scratch-made street food classics.
