Aquarium Boka.
Montenegro’s first and only public aquarium is uniquely housed in the early 19th-century Radoničić Palace, blending marine science with historic Kotor Bay architecture. Run by the University of Montenegro’s Institute for Marine Biology, this is less a generic tourist attraction and more a functional conservation center, complete with an adjacent sea turtle rescue facility. Inside, 18 tanks are organized into regional zones focusing on the Mediterranean, the Adriatic, and Boka Bay itself, alongside a small selection of tropical species. The emphasis is strictly local, showcasing indigenous marine life with highly informative bilingual panels, interactive elements, and a VR experience. It is a compact, science-first stop that helps visitors truly understand the waters right outside.
