Shiveet Khairkhan Mountain.

Rising to 3,281 meters in the Altai Tavan Bogd area, Shiveet Khairkhan Mountain is less about a single peak and more about the vast, open-air gallery spread across its lower slopes. This sacred peak anchors the Upper Tsagaan Gol portion of a UNESCO-listed petroglyph complex, home to an estimated 10,000 ancient rock carvings. A walk along the Khar Salaa River reveals a prehistoric timeline etched into the stone, stretching from the Neolithic and Bronze ages to the Turkic period. Images of mounted warriors, wagons, and wild ibex trace the transition from early hunter-gatherers to nomadic pastoralists. Combined with ancient burial mounds, ritual stones, and Turkic stone men scattered through the valley, the site offers a rare, raw connection to Central Asian history.
