Princess Grace Rose Garden.
Created in 1984 by Prince Rainier III as a tribute to his late wife, the Princess Grace Rose Garden is a fragrant, meticulously landscaped memorial within the Fontvieille district. Spanning nearly 5,000 square meters, the garden's clever layout is designed to resemble a giant rose from above, holding roughly 6,000 rose bushes across more than 450 distinct varieties. At its heart stands a bronze statue of Princess Grace by sculptor Kees Verkade, surrounded by century-old olive trees, quiet fountains, and interactive terminals detailing the royal family's namesake blooms. Maintained without chemicals, this eco-certified space offers a tranquil, coastal escape from Monaco's high-speed energy, reaching its sensory peak in late spring when the roses are in full, spectacular bloom.
