Piedra Volada Falls.

Hidden within the rugged Barranca del Cobre region, Cascada Piedra Volada holds the title of Mexico’s tallest waterfall, plunging a dramatic 453 meters down a sheer cliffside in the Sierra Madre Occidental. Unlike its nearby sibling, Basaseachic Falls, Piedra Volada is a seasonal marvel. The torrent flows almost exclusively during the rainy season from June to October; during the rest of the year, the site transforms into a dry, dizzying abyss. Even when the water is reduced to a trickle, the scale of the 700-meter canyon walls and the unique rounded rock formation that gives the "flying stone" falls its name are spectacular. Hiking trails through the surrounding pine-oak forests offer excellent vantage points, making it a premier destination for hikers and geology buffs.
