La Lomita Ranch.
Perched on a hillside in Valle de Guadalupe, La Lomita operates as a gravity-flow winery where the winemaking process relies on physics rather than machinery. The architecture is a study in contrasts, blending a rustic mission-style exterior with a sharp, modern interior defined by wood, glass, and vibrant murals by artist Jorge Tellaeche. Most notable is the "Pagano," a high-ABV Grenache that anchors a portfolio of organic wines, many of which feature personal family histories printed directly on the labels. The three-story structure is built into the landscape, housing production facilities in the cool lower levels while the tasting room occupies the airy top floor. It is a soulful, family-run operation that manages to feel both deeply traditional and refreshingly contemporary, topped off by a signature portrait of the owner's dog, Goyo, greeting guests at the entrance.
