Skof.
Located in a former textile warehouse in the NOMA district, Skof is the debut solo venture from Tom Barnes, the former executive chef of L’Enclume. The space retains its gritty industrial character—exposed brick and steel girders—but softens it with parquet flooring and a relaxed, no-tablecloth approach to fine dining. The 36-seat dining room offers an intimate setting for tasting menus that prioritize hyper-seasonal British ingredients, many sourced from Simon Rogan’s farm in the Lake District. Expect precise, modern British dishes that balance technical rigor with personal touches, such as a tiramisu dedicated to Barnes’s father. With a chef-curated soundtrack and a choice between wine pairings or thoughtful non-alcoholic options, Skof offers a refined but unpretentious look at Manchester’s evolving culinary identity.
