Po'ipu Beach Park.
Poʻipu Beach Park on Kauai’s south shore is uniquely split by a narrow sandbar, creating two distinct coastal experiences in one spot. On one side, a protected, shallow sandy cove offers gentle, kid-friendly waters perfect for swimming and bodyboarding. On the other, a reef-edge setting provides clearer waters for year-round snorkeling. Beyond the diverse swimming conditions, the park is a frequent resting ground for protected Hawaiian monk seals and green sea turtles, which often haul out onto the golden sand. Highly accessible and fully public, the palm-dotted park features essential conveniences like double lifeguard stands, outdoor showers, picnic pavilions, and barbecue grills, making it a highly practical alternative to the area's more undeveloped beaches.
