Kanopi House.
Kanopi House reimagines the Jamaican escape as a collection of eco-chic treehouses perched sixty feet high within a canopy of ancient Banyan trees. Located on a secluded hillside in Port Antonio, the property was built without felling a single tree; instead, the architecture weaves around the landscape, with trunks occasionally surfacing through rooftops. The design is intentionally organic, featuring louvered walls and furnishings handcrafted by local artisans that invite the rainforest breeze inside. Below the eyrie-like dwellings, guests have direct access to the turquoise waters of the Blue Lagoon. Dining is centered on traditional Jamaican flavors and seasonal ingredients sourced from nearby farms, served in a communal, open-air setting. It’s a sophisticated take on low-impact living where the lack of pretension meets modern comforts like wet bars and nightly turndown service.
