Museo Egizio.
The Museo Egizio in Turin, established in 1824 by King Charles Felix of Sardinia, is the world's oldest museum dedicated to ancient Egyptian artifacts. Its impressive collection of approximately 40,000 items, with around 6,500 on display, spans from pre-dynastic times to the Coptic era, making it one of the most significant collections globally. The museum recently underwent a major renovation to enhance visitor experience, particularly in the striking Gallery of the Kings, designed to evoke the atmosphere of an ancient Egyptian temple. This immersive space combines innovative lighting and design elements, reconnecting artifacts to their historical context. Accessible and family-friendly, the museum also incorporates public urban spaces, inviting engagement from the community while showcasing additional prehistoric and Roman artifacts alongside its vast Egyptian collection.
