Laws Railroad Museum & Historical Site.

Spread across 11 acres on the former site of the Owens Valley railroad terminal, this open-air museum functions as a preserved 19th-century village. The heart of the site is the original 1883 Laws Depot and a rare Armstrong turntable used to rotate locomotives by hand. Beyond the tracks, nearly 50 historic structures—including a ranch house, a blacksmith shop, and a print shop—have been relocated here to protect the region’s pioneer heritage. Inside, the exhibits move past train lore into the gritty realities of early valley life, showcasing tools used by gold miners, dentists, and ranchers. While the "Slim Princess" steam engine remains a stationary centerpiece, visitors can still catch rides on the vintage Death Valley Brill Car for a tactile sense of local transit history.
