Pink Beach.
Located on the remote southeastern peninsula of Lombok, Pink Beach—locally known as Tangsi Beach—gets its distinctive pastel hue from pulverized red coral mixing with soft white sand. The color shifts from a subtle blush to a striking rose depending on the angle of the sun and the wetness of the shore. Far less commercialized than Lombok's western bays, this rugged coastline features calm, clear waters ideal for snorkeling over offshore reefs. The beach’s history is rooted in its past as a Japanese military barracks during World War II, and relics and caves from the era still sit nearby. Reaching this secluded spot requires navigating some notoriously rough roads, but the reward is a quiet, low-key escape free of resort crowds, where local warungs and wooden fishing boats line the shore.
