Pul Kanjari village.
Located near the Wagah Border, Pul Kanjari is a compelling heritage site that served as a busy transit stop on the historic route between Amritsar and Lahore. Built by Maharaja Ranjit Singh during the Sikh Empire, this quiet outpost is defined by a rare cluster of structures: a ruined fort, a resting pavilion, and a historic pool (baoli) adorned with interior frescoes depicting Hindu scriptures and court life. Reflecting the ruler’s secular approach, the site uniquely hosts a temple, a mosque, and a gurdwara side by side. Its evocative name—translating to "dancer's bridge"—stems from a legend about Moran, a court dancer for whom the Maharaja built a canal crossing. Having survived damage during Partition and subsequent border conflicts, the restored site now also features a modern war memorial.
