In the heart of Reykjavík, a chilling scene unfolds at a university where a young German student is found dead, his eyes gruesomely removed and mysterious symbols etched into his skin. Despite a swift arrest by the police, doubts linger among the victim's family about the true perpetrator's identity. They enlist Thóra Guðmundsdóttir, a dedicated lawyer and mother, to delve deeper. Together with her colleague, Matthew Reich, Thóra quickly discovers the student's fascination with Iceland's dark past, including its history of brutal executions and witch hunts.
