Television tower.
Standing 197 meters tall atop Misina peak, the Pécs TV Tower is Hungary’s tallest structure and a defining late-socialist landmark. Built between 1968 and 1973, this concrete giant serves as both an active regional transmitter and a prime vantage point. An express elevator whisks visitors up to the 75-meter mark, where a circular restaurant and an open-air observation deck await. On clear days, the 360-degree panorama stretches past the red roofs of Pécs and the Mecsek hills all the way to Croatia's Papuk Mountain. Inside, the experience takes an eccentric turn with a permanent exhibition featuring life-sized models of the Komlosaurus, a dinosaur native to the region. By night, the tower dominates the skyline, illuminated in shifting colors by a modern LED system.
