Tung Choi Street in Mong Kok offers two entirely different market experiences sliced down a single road. The southern stretch hosts the famous Ladies’ Market, a bustling one-kilometer gauntlet of over 100 stalls packed with bargain clothing, accessories, electronics, and souvenirs where haggling is the status quo. Walk north past Bute Street, however, and the vibe shifts instantly into Goldfish Street. Here, the energetic haggling gives way to a surreal, quiet glow of aquatic shops, where walls of colorful fish float in water-filled plastic bags and tanks of exotic reptiles line the sidewalks. It is a fascinating study in contrast, packed into one of Kowloon's most dense, energetic neighborhoods, with plenty of street food stalls nearby to fuel your walk.
