Nea Irakliza.

Nea Iraklitsa manages to feel like a working coastal village by morning and a lively, low-key resort by night. Situated just outside Kavala on the northern Aegean, it centers on a modern marina and a two-kilometer Blue Flag beach that transitions from a quiet eastern stretch to a bustling, café-lined promenade on the west. While sunbeds, sailing clubs, and tavernas dominate the summer scene, the town’s history runs deeper; founded by Asia Minor refugees after World War I, the local church houses the revered 1922 icon of the Mother of God of Revelation. Today, visitors use the village as a base to eat fresh seafood along the pedestrian harbor or take boat trips to the nearby Red Rocks and the uninhabited islets of Fidonisi and Aretousa, avoiding the crowds of larger resorts.
