Cave of Alistrati.

Discovered by local hunters in 1959, the Cave of Alistrati is one of Greece's most spectacular underground marvels. Located near the Aggitis Gorge, this expansive horizontal cave is celebrated for the sheer density and diversity of its geological formations. Along the one-kilometer visitor path, you will encounter towering chambers reaching heights of 35 meters, delicate aragonite crystals, and rare, gravity-defying helictites that twist in irregular directions. The cave maintains a cool, stable temperature of 17°C year-round, making it a comfortable escape in any season. Adding a futuristic twist to the ancient geology, the hour-long guided tour begins with Persephone, a multilingual robot guide that introduces the cave's history and unique ecosystem, which includes several endemic species.
