Nile Canopus.
Nile Canopus offers a deliberate antidote to the oversized cruise ships crowding the Nile. This 55-meter, double-masted dahabiya hosts just 20 guests, channeling the late 19th-century golden age of river travel. The design draws inspiration from pioneering Egyptologist Amelia Edwards, trading tourist-crowd hustle for the slow, atmospheric pace of early explorers. Inside, ten cabins feature custom Egyptian craftsmanship, writing desks, and panoramic windows—with four suites opening onto private balconies. On the upper deck, a safari-style tent nods to Howard Carter’s historic base camp. Sailing between Luxor and Aswan, the wind-powered vessel stops at riverside temples and villages, offering a highly intimate journey built around history, storytelling, and quiet luxury.
