Fig Tree Bay Beach.

Fig Tree Bay is the defining stretch of sand in Protaras, famous for its exceptionally clear, shallow waters and a small, uninhabited islet just offshore that swimmers can easily reach. Named after the historic fig trees that still line the coast, this sheltered 500-meter cove is naturally protected from heavy winds, making it a haven for paddleboarding, kayaking, and snorkelling. While it is a fully equipped resort beach with sunbeds, water sports, and a lively seaside promenade, it holds a unique piece of history—an ancient Greek tomb was unearthed here during works in 2010. Its proximity to the town center means excellent local tavernas are only a short walk away, though you will want to arrive early in the summer peak to secure a prime spot on the golden sand.
