Taiping National Park.
Deep in the Qinling Mountains southwest of Xi’an, Taiping National Forest Park is a dramatic, high-altitude landscape of steep cliffs and dense canopy, with a forest coverage rate exceeding 96 percent. What draws travelers here is its status as one of northwestern China’s premier waterfall destinations, anchored by the mist-shrouded Rainbow Waterfall and the rugged gorges of the Yellow Goat Dam. The park's ecology shifts dramatically as it climbs toward 3,015 meters, sheltering rare wildlife like golden monkeys within its valleys. While summer offers a cool escape into lush, shaded ravines, spring is particularly spectacular, when the mountain slopes erupt with northern China’s largest concentration of wild purple Chinese redbud blossoms, turning the rugged terrain a vibrant pink.
