Spread across 127 acres on the scenic banks of the Glenmore Reservoir, Heritage Park is one of Canada’s largest living history museums. Rather than relying on replicas, this expansive open-air site is built largely from genuine historical structures transported here from across Western Canada, creating an authentic, documentary-style atmosphere. The park traces regional life from the 1860s to the 1950s through interactive areas, including a Hudson’s Bay Company fort, a First Nations encampment, and a bustling railway town. Costumed interpreters keep the past active, while a working steam train, a paddlewheeler on the reservoir, and an antique midway offer hands-on nostalgia. Don't miss the indoor, year-round Gasoline Alley Museum, home to a massive collection of vintage automobiles and retro petroliana.
