Phnom Sombok.

Perched on a forested hill ten kilometers north of Kratié, Phnom Sombok is an active Buddhist temple and meditation center defined by its dramatic approach. Visitors ascend a long concrete staircase of roughly 300 steps, flanked by a striking, single-file line of life-sized monk statues that gives the climb a ritualistic feel. Along the way, a pavilion houses vivid murals depicting the gruesome punishments awaiting those who stray from a virtuous life. At the summit, the 15th-century temple complex features colorful sculptures of the Buddha's life, active monastic quarters, and panoramic views of the Mekong River. Home to a resident troop of monkeys and surrounded by lush woodland, this hilltop sanctuary seamlessly blends local folklore, religious art, and natural scenery.
