Tobacco Bay Beach.
Tucked inside the UNESCO World Heritage Site of St. George’s, Tobacco Bay Beach pairs a sheltered swimming cove with a storied past. Named after the wild tobacco found here by shipwrecked survivors in 1609, this national park later served as the shipping point for stolen British gunpowder during the American Revolutionary War. Today, the draw is decidedly more relaxed. High limestone rock formations protect the shallow, crystal-clear water from the open ocean, creating a calm haven for snorkeling alongside blue parrotfish and angelfish. The beach is fully outfitted with loungers, kayak rentals, and a lively bar serving wahoo nuggets and cocktails. Its proximity to the cruise port means it can get busy, but the evening bonfires and easy-going energy keep it a classic Bermuda stop.
